Time for some more Black Series love : CC-2224 "Commander Cody"

Now let me start off by saying, I have a very special spot in my heart for the prequals. Sure they have their flaws and I'll admit "Attack of the Clones" is far from my favorite as an overall Star Wars flick. However, the miriad of characters that lead to the incredible "Clone Wars" TV Series would not have happened if not for those movies. Without getting too much into my thoughts about the prequals let's get right in it ( There will be a post later about my thoughts and feelings about the entire saga)
One of the better known Clones was CC-2224 or Commander Cody. Commander Cody can be seen Episode 3 interacting with the Jedi and is a Clone which paved the path for other notable Clone Troopers such as Captain Rex and Fives among the thousands of Jango Fett based Clones.
Looking at the figure, it's easy to see that the Clone Trooper armor was heading towards the traditional "Storm Troooper" armor we saw during Episode 4. This figure came with two blasters; the huge DC-15A blaster rifle and the traditional DC-15S blaster. Once again it's easy to see the amount of care that went into the mold and another example of awesome level of detail.
This  figure was a surprise find on my first trip on opening day at a brand new comic book store. It was great timing as I was on the look out for some troopers for the collection! Please enjoy the following pictures!

The return of David Levinson: A look towards Independence Day 2 Resurgence ( there may be a few minor spoilers in here folks)

DAVID DAVID! OH CRAP!

Ever since I first saw Independence Day back in let's say 1998 when I was but 8 years old, I could remember every scene and line and felt the excitement of what a good fun Sci-Fi action movie should be like. Such a simple plot, Aliens come to Earth, they destroy Earth we fight back and we win. Boring right? It's been done right? Sure it has, but not like this.
Independence Day had a great mix of humour, action and feeling. It had Jeff Goldblum Will Smith, Bill Pullman and Judd Hirsch oh and Randy Quaid! Each brought so much energy and fun to the screen that even at 8 years of age I appreciated all of it. If anything, this movie is proof that anything that has been done before can be still be fun when you have the right mix of talent and story telling focusing the small stuff like character interaction and action sequences. So knowing all this and having watched many times. It remains the only movie I have ever watched back to back in one sitting. I literally hit rewind (cause we had to that back then) and hit play again and watched it over. Hell I haven't even done that with a Star Wars movie (sure I'ved them like a few days to a week apart but never back to back same flick)
So imagine my surprise and little bit of reluctance when I heard that a sequel was being made. To say I was intrigued is an understatement but when I first saw the trailer I was sold. It feels like they are sticking with the same formula in story telling I mean we had a feeling that the aliens would be pissed off about losing to a species as primitive as ours so of course they'd want to come back and try again. As I stated earlier, it's the characters that played such a part in the first one that the sight of Jeff Goldbum and Bill Pullman show up on screen during the trailer (which can be viewed bellow) made me that little bit more excited for what we will see in June. But wait no Will Smith?! Where is Captain  Hiller! As we find out on the memorial site for the War of 1996, he died in a test flight crash ( we know its because Will Smith was filming for Suicide Squad which is totally okay because yeh...thats another post) But to see young pilot with similar looks to Hiller and doing simple arithmetic we see that his son Dylan is now a pilot! So the Hiller name still lives!
To me this movie feels like a bit of a family reunion and a check in on how things have been since the invasion. I love seeing that we used the tech left behind to advance our own defence systems because we know, they will come back!

Kylo Ren 6" Black Series Figurine

Howdy fellow Geeks and Nerds!
Let's take a minute to talk Black Series Star Wars Action Figures. more specific the 6" series. What a great bunch of molds! If you can stomach the $30.00 price tag you'd be hard pressed not find value in adding these to any collection!
Since the release of The Force Awakens I've been scouring the toy stores...(well okay the 2 in town) looking for a kick ass Kylo Ren action figure. He's quickly become one of my favorite villains in the franchise. Yeah I've heard it all " he's such a baby, he's weak in the force if Rey was able to defeat him in a saber battle" Blah blah blah. All I have to say is I love his path to the dark side. The way they portrayed him as a Vader fanboy really speaks to me. Darth Vader is such an iconic being, the thought of a following is not far fetched,
The entire costume is a reflection of his character. It's very quickly put together, its made of pieces of torn material, the helmet has been damaged and not been repaired. Kylo is impatient and full of anger. I mean you are of the same blood line as Darth Vader, who wouldn't feel unworthy! The scene after he gets injured where he is literally hitting his wound to seep out the pain to call on the Dark Side of The Force was a great touch. Just to elaborate a little more on that scene, many Dark Side Force users use physical pain to use their anger to become stronger in The Force. I recently finished a Legends book from the Knights of the Old Republic Story line about "Revan" and the Sith character did the very same thing. It's those small details in which you see Kylo Ren immerse himself in the Dark Side which really make me a fan of his.
The Grandson of Anakin Skykwalker, Kylo Ren is the new face of the Dark Side and the Hasbro Black Series figure has done a great job representing this  Please enjoy the following photos I took of my first ever Black Series Action Figure!

Rogue 2 Snowspeeder from 1995!

Good day fellow Geeks!

I figured its about time to get this blog rolling with something from way back when I was but a child. Roughly around the years of 95-97 Micro Machine had a great range of vehicles. One of the first vehicles I ever got was the Rogue 2 Snowspeeder. We know the Snowspeeders to be the cool low flying vehicles that took down the massive AT-ATs on Hoth. They have also been featured in many other stories outside the Battle of Hoth. Anyone remember Rogue Squadron on the N64? So cool to use them outside of the usual snowy backdrop!
This was a variant of the one seen in "Empire Strikes Back". I remember even at a young age the amount of EU toys coming out and I wish I paid more attention to what everything was! But I digress!
This toy came with two pilots (one of which has gone MIA) the port and starboard flaps open. Its very cool to see they added blaster damage.

Overall its a really cool toy, fairly well detailed something I remember noticing even as a kid! It was very nice to be reunited with this after so many years tucked away in a box under a crawlspace!

Greetings Programs!

Top of the day to all you wonderful people out in the dubya dubya dubya!

I've created this little blog as a spot where I can share my many Fandom's with all who care to read! The intention of this blog is somewhere I can post and document my growing collection of collectible. Here you will find posts ranging from Funkos to action figures to books! I love many different fandoms and what better way to share my passion then to millions of strangers right?  (cheeky I know :p)

Just a little about me, I'm a geek. There you have it!

Father and Son....there's a little resemblance no?
Okay maybe a little bit more then. I've been a sci fi fan for as along as I can remember. Growing up I followed the familiar path of many "geeks" by being exposed to the what I like to call "SCI FI fan building blocks" such as Star Trek and Star Wars, the gateways to the obsession. Of course there needed to be a catalyst in my life and that catalyst was my Father. My father whom he himself is a certified geek. had me watching Star Trek Next Generation from the moment I was born. Star Trek was very much part of my childhood but it wasn't until the age of 6 or 7 that things really picked up for me when he had me watch Star Wars. (hold for gasp) And guess what?...I thought it was boring! But fast forward to a year later to 1997 when Lucasfilms remastered the trilogy and my Father took to see A New Hope in theaters What was wrong me?! Why did I say this was boring?!
Sneak peak of the Funko Pop army
Had a grown so wise between the age of 6 and 7? No something just clicked, and that something is just the capacity to grow and appreciate something even after you've been exposed to it and did nothing for you. To that point, that transition or "growth" is something I hope to highlight in this blog. There were things I was not into as a kid that I am now, comics for that matter. For example, I never read comic books as a kid, I would just watch the animated series of Batman, Spider-Man and Superman, it was until 6 months or so ago I started getting into comic books and discovering that whole world.
And this is something I love to happen. When there is an "Awakening" (see what I did there?) and a new obsession is ignited. In this the decade of the 2010s, it is a time of pure abundance of nerdisms and geekisms and fandomisms; its the decade of isms! Never has there been a time of acceptance and popularity in the realm of Fandoms; it truly is the golden age.

So I invite you to stay tuned and be part of my journey into the exploration of the abundance of geek stuff! Stay tuned as I share collectibles I accumulated in the past as a child and my ever growing new additions.

Please feel free to comment and respond if something here clicks with you and we will grow together!
